Tatiana Ovechkina, a two-time Olympic basketball champion, was asked whether this season will be the last of her son Alexander Ovechkin's NHL career.
Ovechkin, 41, signed a new one-year deal with Washington on 2 July. He is the NHL's all-time leading regular-season goalscorer, with 929, and sits second on the combined regular-season-and-playoff list with 1,006, behind only Wayne Gretzky's 1,016.
