Torpedo beat Avangard 5:1 at home on Tuesday, handing the Omsk side a third straight defeat.
Yegor Vinogradov made it 2:0 on 28 minutes, and Bogdan Konyushkov scored in the 49th minute, and Pavel Kraskovsky sealed it into an empty net on 60. Vladimir Tkachev finished with three assists. Joshua Livo scored Avangard's only goal, in the 21st minute.
Guy Boucher's side have now lost three matches running by a combined 3:9 and sit eighth in the Eastern Conference on 6 points from 7 games. Torpedo, under Alexei Isakov, move to third in the West on 10 points from 7. Avangard next play Spartak on 24 September; Torpedo host Sochi the same day.
Spartak arrive on the back of five straight wins, having beaten Traktor 3:1 to go top of the Western Conference.
