Metallurg leave Vladimir Tkachev out of squad for Salavat Yulaev game
Forward Vladimir Tkachev misses the KHL clash with Salavat Yulaev through a slight illness; Kirill Kadyshev replaces him after coach Andrei Razin's blunt remarks.
Vladimir Tkachev has been left out of Metallurg's squad for the KHL Fonbet Championship fixture against Salavat Yulaev.
The club said the forward is missing the game through illness. "Tkachev will not play today because of a slight illness, we wish him a speedy recovery and expect him back on the ice," Metallurg said in a statement. Kirill Kadyshev has been called up in his place and will play in the third line.
Tkachev had already been moved down to the third forward line before the squad was announced. Head coach Andrei Razin, asked about the forward's form, gave a blunt answer: "Am I supposed to blow smoke up his backside so he plays? Whatever the coach says, he has to do."
Tkachev has 5 (1+4) points in 7 games this season, with a minus-3 rating.
