Pinchuk: Nashville Deal Lets Me Leave if Sent Down to AHL
Belarusian forward Vitaly Pinchuk says his one-year, $1.025m Nashville deal lets him leave if sent to the AHL, and that he rates the KHL above it.
Vitaly Pinchuk's one-year contract with Nashville, worth $1.025m, allows him to leave the club if he is sent down to the AHL. The 24-year-old Belarusian forward described the terms of the deal in an interview.
Nashville offered him a spot on the second or third line. "Attacking lines with good partners who will help in attack," Pinchuk said.
The club told him, in most cases, that it needs a player who works in front of the net. "I hope they give me a chance," Pinchuk said. "If they don't, I will still fight for it there, because all of this is only words. You have to show yourself in the games."
The deal includes an AHL exit clause. "If they send me down to the AHL, then it is my choice," he said. "If the team says I am not ready for the NHL, I can leave."
He does not rate the AHL above the KHL. "What is the point of playing in the AHL if you can play at home, for your own country, your own club?" Pinchuk said. "I don't see the AHL being stronger, or even level. I think the KHL is still stronger."
He ranks the KHL second only to the NHL.
Dinamo Minsk hold his KHL rights.
