Sochi coach Mironov: Hard to play hockey with zero goals

Andrey Mironov, the head coach of Sochi, said his side has yet to find a way to the opposition's net after a 0:3 defeat at the hands of Torpedo. The hosts failed to score in the match, a result that leaves them 11th in the Western Conference with just two points from seven games.

«With zero goals scored, it is difficult to play hockey. We asked the boys to shoot more. So far we cannot find ways to the goal», Mironov said. The coach noted that the power play failed to produce a result as well, and that he swapped Khlukhachev and Karu to add tempo and switch to a three-line setup.

Sochi have now lost six times this season. Mironov admitted the team struggled to execute the aggression they planned for, despite instructing the players to increase their volume of shots. The coach did not elaborate on the tactical adjustments further, simply stating the intent was to change the pace.

The defeat means Sochi remain in the lower half of the standings and cannot afford another slip if they wish to climb out of the bottom tier. Mironov's comments suggest a focus on immediate action rather than complex formations, though the results so far have not matched the plan.
