Marchenko's Toronto debut in doubt over visa delay
Kirill Marchenko may miss the Maple Leafs' season opener against Montreal as his work visa process remains unfinished before puck drop.
Kirill Marchenko could miss Toronto's season opener against Montreal because his work visa has not been finalised.
The Russian forward joined the Maple Leafs from Columbus in the off-season. Toronto face the Canadiens tonight in the NHL's opening game of the campaign, and journalist Chris Johnston reported that Marchenko's availability remains in doubt.
"It's not yet known whether Kirill Marchenko will be able to play for Toronto in today's season-opening match against Montreal. He still needs to complete his work visa process," Johnston wrote.
