Ovechkin Returns to Full Training with Washington
Capitals coach Spencer Carbery says Alexander Ovechkin trained without limitations after missing two sessions with a lower-body injury.
Alexander Ovechkin has returned to full training with Washington, head coach Spencer Carbery has confirmed. The 41-year-old missed two sessions with a lower-body injury.
"It's a good sign. He practised without any limitations, he didn't have to sit out any drills, so everything is fine. I'm not worried. He's at the stage of his career where he already knows what he needs to do to get into shape for the start of the season," Carbery said.
Ovechkin enters the campaign as the NHL's all-time leading goalscorer, having passed Wayne Gretzky's record last season. Washington open their 2026-27 schedule in early October.
