The Los Angeles Kings have sent defenceman Kirill Kirsanov to their AHL affiliate as part of the pre-season roster trim ahead of the NHL's regular-season start.
Carolina made two moves of its own, assigning forwards Ivan Ryabkin and Gleb Trikozov to the minors. The Hurricanes also placed forward Viktor Neuchev on waivers, with the aim of sending him down to the AHL as well. Any other NHL club can claim him within 24 hours.
Clubs across the league face a deadline of 29 September to trim their rosters to 23 players before the campaign gets under way.
