Aleksandr Golovin

Golovin came through Kaltan's own football school before moving on to Metallurg Novokuznetsk and, in 2012, the CSKA Moscow academy. He made his senior debut for CSKA in September 2014 and went on to make 113 appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals and winning the Russian Premier League title in 2015–16.

His performances at the 2018 World Cup, where Russia reached the quarter-finals and Golovin scored in four appearances, prompted Monaco to sign him that July for a fee that set a record for a Russian player. He wore number 17 before switching to the number 10 shirt and has since made 270 appearances for the club, scoring 40 goals. In February 2021, he scored the first Ligue 1 hat-trick by a Russian player, in a match against Nîmes, and Monaco reached the Coupe de France final that season. He was named to The Athletic's Ligue 1 Team of the Season for 2023–24, and his contract at the club runs until 2029.

For the national team, Golovin has earned 52 caps and scored 9 goals, with appearances at the 2017 Confederations Cup and Euro 2020 alongside the 2018 World Cup. In 2018 he was made an Honoured Master of Sport of Russia and received an Honorary Diploma from the President of the Russian Federation.
