About the player
Aleksander Damnjanović Nilsson came through Malmö FF's academy, having joined the club at the age of five. He signed his first professional contract with Malmö FF in June 2021. He never made a league appearance for Malmö before moving on.
His first loan took him to Danish 1st Division side Jammerbugt FC, where he featured 13 times in the second half of 2021. Across his time in Norway he made roughly 57 appearances in all competitions and scored five goals.
In January 2025, Nilsson signed for Halmstads BK as a free agent on a contract running to the end of 2027. He made 13 Allsvenskan appearances in his first season at the club and has added nine more in the 2026 campaign so far, along with appearances in the Svenska Cupen across both seasons.
Nilsson has represented Sweden at various youth levels, from the under-15s through to the under-18s, including a run of 15 caps and a goal for the under-17 side.
