Alexander Velazquez

Alexander Velázquez came through Danubio's own academy, moving up from the reserve side, Danubio FC B, into the first team at the start of 2025. The promotion carried no transfer fee and no detour through another club — a straightforward step up the internal ladder that left him a regular in the squad from the off.

He wasted little time settling in. Across the 2025 Liga AUF season, the left-footed midfielder finished the year with fifteen league appearances. He has continued into the 2026 campaign with further outings in the Apertura phase, and found the net in the Copa Uruguay, his first senior goal for the club. Goals have otherwise been absent from his game so far, with his 2025 and 2026 league contributions coming without a goal or assist to his name, though he has picked up a run of yellow cards along the way as he adapts to senior football.

At club level he wears the number 17 for Danubio, and his path so far — academy to reserves to first team, with the goal against in the Copa Uruguay standing out as an early marker.
