Alexandros Kalogeropoulos

Two Greek clubs' interest in a teenage defender turned into a notable transfer story when Alexios Kalogeropoulos left Asteras Tripolis for Olympiacos in 2020. Despite reported interest from PAOK, the player insisted on joining Olympiacos, and the club secured him for a fraction of the fee initially reported — paying just €1,500 to his first club, Dafni Andravida, and €4,500 to Asteras Tripolis under training compensation rules, rather than the sum of up to €36,500 first suggested. Greek media dubbed the deal a "perfect heist".

Kalogeropoulos made his senior Olympiacos debut on 5 May 2021 at 16 years and nine months old, becoming the club's sixth-youngest ever player, and started in a 4-1 playoff win over arch-rivals Panathinaikos eleven days later. After two seasons with Olympiacos B, he moved to Volos on loan in 2023, where he made 58 Super League Greece appearances and scored once. His form there was rewarded with the club's Player of the Season award for 2024-25 and a nomination for the Tuttosport Golden Boy award, in which he finished 98th.

He returned to Olympiacos and scored his first senior goal for the club in the 2025-26 season, having already won two Super League Greece titles and a Greek Super Cup during his time there. With his contract expiring in 2026, Kalogeropoulos left as a free agent; reports linked him with a move to AC Monza before he instead signed for 1. FC Nürnberg.

At international level, he has represented Greece at youth level, with 12 caps and a goal for the under-19s and 13 appearances and a goal for the under-21s.
