About the player
Artem Machelyuk's route to senior football ran through the lower tiers of Ukrainian football before a late breakthrough. Born in Kropyvnytskyi, he came through the Zirka Kirovograd academy, joining as a boy in 2012 and staying with the club through its youth ranks until 2016, later featuring for the U-19 and U-21 sides in the Ukrainian Youth League and Youth Championship. No call-ups to any Ukraine youth national team followed.
His senior career only began in the 2020–21 season, and it began in an unusual way: split across two clubs at once in the Ukrainian Second League. He made his senior debut for OPFK Cherkashchyna that season, sent on as a substitute in the 89th minute. In the same period he turned out for Peremoha Dnipro, and in the Ukrainian Cup tie against Kremin Kremenchuk on 29 August 2020 he was booked and substituted.
The most significant stretch of his career came at Kudrivka, where he played through the 2024–25 seasons as the club won promotion to the Ukrainian Premier League in 2025. A right-back by trade and right-footed, Machelyuk then moved on again: on 28 July 2026 he transferred from Kudrivka to Zorya Luhansk on a free, signing a contract running to 30 June 2028.
He has not collected any individual awards or major team honours over the course of his career so far.
