Artem Zhilin came through the youth ranks at Yelimai Semey before making his name at reserve level. Playing for Yelimai-M Semey in the Kazakhstan Second League in 2025, the midfielder made 19 appearances and scored three goals, output that persuaded the club to sign him to his first professional contract in January 2026 and bring him into the senior squad.
His breakthrough with the first team came in a friendly against Emirates FC, where he scored on his senior debut. Zhilin described the goal as a dream come true.
