About the player
Bright Arrey-Mbi made his first-team debut for Bayern Munich in the Champions League, against Atletico Madrid in December 2020, after earlier youth spells at Norwich City and Chelsea in England.
That outing turned out to be his only senior appearance for Bayern, yet he still collected a striking run of honours at the club: the Champions League, Bundesliga titles, the DFB-Pokal, the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and two German Super Cups, alongside a 3. Liga title with Bayern's reserve side. Most of his actual football came elsewhere — with the reserves, on loan at 1. FC Köln in 2022, and then at Hannover 96.
That switch carried an unusual detail: Bayern held an option to buy him back, but let it lapse, and Arrey-Mbi left as a free agent instead. He dug in at Hannover, making 32 appearances in 2. Bundesliga in 2023/24.
In July 2024 he joined SC Braga for a reported €6.2 million, moving into regular first-team football in the Primeira Liga and continental competition. Germany have picked him at every youth level from U17 up to U21, though a call-up to the senior side has not yet followed.
