Bas Kuipers

Bas Kuipers came through the Ajax academy, joining De Volewijckers before moving to the Amsterdam club's youth setup in 2001 and staying until 2013. He signed a professional contract with Ajax that year and played for Jong Ajax, and he was loaned out to Excelsior for the 2014–2015 season before making the move permanent.

His spell at Excelsior produced an unusual record: across the 2015–16 season he played 60 consecutive hours of Eredivisie football without being substituted. From there he moved to ADO Den Haag, then to Viitorul Constanța in Romania, where he won the Cupa României and the Supercupa României in 2019 before his contract there was cut short.

Back in the Netherlands, Kuipers played every minute of NEC Nijmegen's Eerste Divisie campaign in 2019–2020, a season curtailed by the pandemic. His move to Go Ahead Eagles in 2020 proved significant. He was made captain and scored the decisive goal in the final match against Excelsior that sealed the club's promotion in the 2020–21 season. He was named to the Eredivisie Team of the Month in August 2023 before a transfer to FC Twente in 2024.

A loan spell took him to FC Arouca in Portugal in January 2026, where he made 17 appearances. At international level, Kuipers represented the Netherlands at U16, U17, U20 and U21.
