About the player
Dean Huiberts started out with DOS Kampen before moving on to FC Twente's academy, where he stayed until 2018. That September he swapped Enschede for PEC Zwolle, a switch that did not go smoothly: he turned down a three-year contract extension at Twente to force the move. He broke into Zwolle's first team in 2019 and went on to make 91 league appearances for the club over five seasons, scoring six goals along the way.
In January 2024, with his future at Zwolle unresolved, Huiberts joined Belgian side Beerschot on loan. Under manager Dirk Kuyt he played ten matches as Beerschot won the Challenger Pro League and went up to the Jupiler Pro League.
He left the Low Countries altogether in August 2025, joining Italian Serie C club Pro Vercelli, where he spent the 2025–26 season. Huiberts returned to the Netherlands in July 2026 to sign for Helmond Sport.
He has never been capped by the Netherlands at senior or youth level. Off the pitch, he carries a footballing surname beyond his own: he is the nephew of Max Huiberts, a former player who went on to work as a director.
