Diogo Jorge Sousa Martins

Diogo Martins joined União de Leiria in January 2026. Martins had signed for FC Alverca as a free agent in July 2023 and went on to make 70 appearances and score six goals across all competitions.

Born in Tavira, Martins came through the youth ranks at Ginásio Tavira before moving into Lusitano VRSA's academy, first at Sub-15 level and then Sub-17. He also spent a spell in SC Olhanense's youth system before returning to Lusitano VRSA, where he made his senior debut in the 2014/15 season. From there his career took him through a string of clubs in Portugal's lower and middle divisions: Louletano DC, SC Praiense, SG Sacavenense, a return to SC Olhanense as a senior, FC Oliveira do Hospital and Amora FC, before the move to Alverca.

Now Martins takes on a new challenge at União de Leiria.
