Dan Neicu

Dan Neicu came home in the summer of 2025 after spending most of his career in Germany. Born in Galați, he left Romania at 14, moving through the youth ranks at Stuttgarter Kickers, Waldhof Mannheim and SGV Freiberg before turning professional in Austria with FC Mauerwerk. From there his path ran through a string of German clubs — 1. FC Bruchsal, Rot Weiss Ahlen, SC Weiche Flensburg 08, TSV Essingen and FC Nöttingen.

On 12 July 2025 he signed for Oțelul Galați on a free transfer, agreeing a contract that runs until 30 June 2027. The move brought the left-footed defender back to his home city's club, having spent his early youth years at the Gheorghe Hagi Academy and Farul Constanța before his move abroad. At Oțelul he wears the number 16 shirt.

He has not been capped by Romania at any level, senior or youth, and has not won a trophy or individual award in his career so far. His time in Germany was largely spent outside the country's top divisions, with a short stint at Rot Weiss Ahlen yielding four appearances. At 1.88 m, he offers height at the back, though the bulk of his football education has taken place away from the spotlight.
