Emmanuel Godwin

Emmanuel Godwin started out at the Tripple 44 Football Academy in Ibadan, Nigeria, before a successful trial in mid-2023 took him to Sweden's Trelleborgs FF. He stayed there through 2026, where he made 62 appearances, and finishing his time at the club with 71 games overall and a single goal to his name. Relegation eventually caught up with Trelleborgs, and in January 2026 Godwin left for FK Pardubice in the Czech First League, a move worth around €500,000 that came with a contract running to 2030.

Godwin has settled into the Chance Liga quickly. In his first nine league appearances for Pardubice he was dribbled past just once, a mark of the defensive solidity he has been noted for since arriving in the Czech Republic. Across 11 appearances so far he has added an assist, though the disciplinary record also shows two yellow cards and one red.

Versatile by trade, Godwin has played at both left-back and right-back and can be pushed into midfield when needed. He has not yet been capped by Nigeria's senior side, the Super Eagles, but in July 2026 he was named to the Nigeria U23 training list by head coach Eric Chelle as the team prepared for the Olympic Games — without, so far, a senior appearance to show for it.
