Slovácko and Pardubice played out a 0:0 draw in the Czech League's Regular Season round 7 at the Městský fotbalový stadion Miroslava Valenty on Saturday. Neither side could find a way through, and the result leaves both clubs still searching for their first victory of the campaign.
The first notable incident came early, with Martin Svidersky shown a yellow card in the sixth minute. Pardubice's Gigli Ndefe received a booking of his own in the 29th minute, and the half ended with Daniel Smekal replaced by a substitute for the visitors at the break.
The second half brought a flurry of changes. Abdoull Tanko and Filip Horsky came on for Slovácko in the 61st minute, followed by Michal Hlavatý for the visitors at 71. Pavel Juroska and Marek Havlík were brought on together for Slovácko in the 75th, with Tobias Boledovic arriving in the 82nd. Kahuan Vinicius was cautioned in stoppage time before Martin Svidersky himself was substituted in the 92nd minute.
By then it was clear the game was being decided in the middle, where Slovácko controlled territory but Pardubice stayed compact. The hosts registered 81 attacks against 59 for the visitors, yet only managed two shots on target to Pardubice's four. Slovácko's shooting accuracy sat at 14 per cent, while the visitors hit 44 per cent, though neither efficiency translated into goals.
Possession reflected the flow of the match, with Slovácko holding 59 per cent to 41. They completed 369 passes compared to 238 for Pardubice, and created two big chances against one. The visitors managed more tackles—14 to 10—and had 32 clearances against 28, suggesting they spent more time defending their ground.
The result keeps both sides rooted in the bottom two. Slovácko sit 14th with three points from seven games, while Pardubice remain in 15th place on two points. Neither side has tasted victory yet, and this stalemate does little to ease the pressure on either camp as the season gets under way.
