Plzeň took all three points against Karviná in the Czech Liga on Friday, closing out a comfortable 3-0 win at the host stadium. The visitors controlled the tempo from the opening exchanges and never looked in danger of surrendering their lead. Seven minutes remained when the final whistle sounded, and the result confirmed what the scoreboard had shown since the half-hour mark.
The breakthrough came at the 30th minute when Amar Memić found the net to give Plzeň the lead. To be fair, Karviná had defended well before that moment, but the goal changed the shape of the contest. The hosts pressed for an equaliser but could not break through a disciplined defensive line.
Two more goals followed in quick succession before the interval. Cheick Souaré struck at 43 minutes, and Lukáš Červ added a third just one minute later. And here's the thing about that double: it meant Karviná never had a realistic chance to climb back into the game. The visitors had worked hard for those chances and converted when it mattered.
The management made changes to manage the game. Prince Kwabena Adu came off at 60 minutes alongside Denis Vavro, while Filip Prebsl and Cheick Souaré were replaced at the 66th minute. Patrik Hrošovský was the last change at 77 minutes, a routine substitution to see out the remaining time.
The statistics told the story of dominance. Plzeň held 58 per cent possession and registered nine shots on target compared to Karviná's inability to test the goalkeeper. They completed 314 of 394 passes, a success rate that reflected their control. Five blocked shots and four shots off target showed the home side had to work for every defensive clearance.
The result leaves Plzeň in ninth place with nine points from six league games. They have won twice, drawn three times, and suffered just one defeat so far. By then, the pattern was clear — the visitors knew how to take their points and keep them.
