Flavius David Daniliuc

Flavius Daniliuc's path to Verona ran through some of Europe's biggest academies. Born in Vienna, he left Rapid Wien's youth setup for Real Madrid at the age of ten, spending three years in the Spanish capital before Bayern Munich brought him back to Germany in 2015. He worked his way up to Bayern's second team, making four appearances in the 2019–20 season as the side won the 3. Liga title.

Nice gave him that path. Signed from Bayern in 2020, Daniliuc made 49 appearances for the French club, scoring his first senior goal in a win over Rennes, and reached the final of the Coupe de France in 2021–22, though Nice finished runners-up. His performances that season were enough to earn him a place on The Guardian's list of the most talented footballers born in 2001.

He made 44 appearances for the Italian club, drifting through loan spells at Red Bull Salzburg and then Verona, where he made 18 Serie A appearances in 2024–25 without scoring. He returned to Salernitana at the end of that loan before a permanent transfer to Basel this September, and he opened his scoring account for the Swiss club with a goal against Winterthur in October.

At international level, Daniliuc worked his way through Austria's youth ranks from under-15 to under-21 before making his senior debut against Estonia in March 2023, a game Austria won 2–1. He was subsequently named in Austria's squad for Euro 2024.
