About the player
Giacomo Vrioni found success on loan at WSG Tirol in 2021–22, where he scored 19 goals in 28 appearances for the Austrian side while still on Juventus's books.
Vrioni came through Sampdoria's youth ranks, joining the club's system in January 2015 after starting out at Matelica Calcio, where he made four Serie D appearances for the first team. At Sampdoria's Primavera and Allievi Nazionali levels he scored 17 goals in 50 games, form that persuaded Juventus to sign him in January 2020 for a fee reported at around €4 million. His time in Turin yielded only two first-team matches, with the WSG Tirol loan proving the more productive chapter of his Juventus years.
In 2022 he moved to Major League Soccer with New England Revolution for a reported $3.8 million, scoring 16 goals in 67 appearances. A trade sent him to CF Montréal in January 2025, where he added three goals in nine games before joining Cesena in 2026.
Born in Italy, Vrioni represents Albania at international level. He made his debut on 14 October 2018 in a UEFA Nations League match against Israel and has since earned six senior caps.
