J. Abdulai

Twenty-two seconds. That is how long Jalal Abdullai needed to score for IF Elfsborg against Mjällby AIF in July 2024.

He arrived in Sweden a year earlier, in July 2023, signing from Inter Allies in Ghana for a fee the clubs did not disclose. Before Inter Allies he had passed through the Cedar Stars academy. At Elfsborg he took the number 14 shirt and made 34 league appearances, scoring seven goals. He featured in the 2023–24 Svenska Cupen, a competition Elfsborg won; the following season the club reached the final again and lost to Malmö FF.

In April 2024 the newspaper Expressen ranked him the fifth-best teenager in the Allsvenskan, calling him an "uncut diamond".

The move that settled his direction came in March 2025, when Elfsborg loaned him to Molde FK in Norway for the season. He played 20 league matches there and scored four goals. In March 2026 Molde exercised their option and bought him outright for around 40 million Swedish kronor, on a contract running to 31 December 2029.

Internationally the line has barely moved. Abdullai holds Ghanaian nationality and has been linked with the country's set-ups, but as of August 2026 he has no senior cap for the Black Stars, and the available records show no official appearances at under-17 or under-20 level either.
