About the player
Jack Tagesson came up through Djurgårdens IF's academy in Stockholm, and by 2024 had broken into the club's U19 side. He also got a taste of first-team football that year, appearing once in the Swedish Cup.
That season brought recognition as well as minutes. Sweden's federation took notice too, calling him into the national U18 squad for training camps and a set of friendlies against Hungary in June 2024.
Rather than fighting for a foothold at Djurgården, Tagesson moved on at the start of 2025, joining Nordic United FC in Ettan Norra, Sweden's third tier. He has since joined Västerås SK, where he plays as a defender.
Tagesson has yet to add senior Sweden caps to his U18 call-ups. His path so far has been one of incremental steps — academy football and a single cup outing at Djurgården, underage international recognition, then a move into regular first-team men's football away from Stockholm.
