Zota Lopes

Jota Lopes spent most of his career in the lower tiers of Portuguese football before a move abroad. His early years ran through Famalicão's under-23 side, where a single appearance in each of two seasons yielded a goal both times. From there he settled into the fourth tier of the Portuguese pyramid, turning out for Maria da Fonte and then Fontinhas, where four Liga 3 appearances brought a goal and an assist.

A move to Salgueiros in January 2024 followed a similar pattern: sparing use, but a habit of scoring when he did play, with a goal in each of two separate single-appearance seasons in the Campeonato de Portugal. That knack for making brief chances count carried into a short spell at Vila Mea from August 2025, where three league appearances brought three goals, plus a further goal in four matches of the Taça de Portugal.

The break in his career came in January 2026, when Spartak Varna signed him as a free agent on a contract running to the summer of 2027. In the current campaign he has featured in six matches so far, without a goal or assist recorded, picking up one caution.

Reports differ on whether he operates from the left or right of an attacking line, though he is consistently described as right-footed. There is no record of him having represented Portugal at any national team level, nor of any trophies in his career to date.
