Levski Sofia ran out 6-0 winners over Spartak Varna at the VivaCom Arena Georgi Asparuhov on Friday evening, extending their perfect start to the First League campaign. The result keeps the hosts top of the table after six matches, while Spartak remain seventh. It was a straightforward evening for the home side, who camped in the final third from the opening whistle.
Armstrong Oko-Flex opened the scoring in the eighth minute, and the momentum never really shifted. To be fair, Spartak never threatened, but Levski did not need to work hard for their second. Juan Perea doubled the advantage at the 15th-minute mark, and by then the game was already drifting away from the visitors. The away end never stopped, but there was little substance behind the noise.
The second half brought a red card for Spartak rather than a change of fortune. Vasco Oliveira picked up a yellow at 77 minutes and was sent off five minutes later after another infringement. Levski had already pushed on, with David Kusso finding the net in the 60th minute and Armstrong Oko-Flex adding a second of his own at 64. Steven Stoyanchov and Adrian Raychev rounded off the scoring, the latter arriving late to claim his name on the scoresheet.
The statistics tell you everything about a one-sided performance. Levski held 75 per cent possession, registered 18 shots on target, and produced 99 attacks. Spartak managed 25 per cent possession, just one shot on target, and 33 attacks. Levski now sit top with 21 points from seven games, while Spartak have eight points after seven matches and three defeats.
