About the player
Kaito Suzuki came through the Júbilo Iwata academy and made his J.League debut for the club on 19 August 2020, going on to make 52 league appearances and score twice, the first of those goals arriving on 23 April 2023. A loan spell at Tochigi SC in 2022 gave him regular first-team football, with 34 league appearances there. In January 2025 he left Júbilo Iwata for Tokyo Verdy, where he has since made 26 league appearances as a centre-back.
Suzuki's development has run in parallel through Japan's youth sides. He was part of the squad that won the AFC U-16 Championship in 2018, making 12 appearances at that level, and later won the AFC U-23 Asian Cup with Japan's U-23 side in 2024. That same year, he was named in Japan's squad for the men's football tournament at the 2024 Summer Olympics. He has not yet been capped by the senior national team.
Born in Hamamatsu, Suzuki has settled at centre-back through his moves between Júbilo Iwata, Tochigi SC and now Tokyo Verdy.
