About the player
Kévin Van Den Kerkhof took the long way round French amateur football before finding a home in Belgium. He started out with AS Aulnoye Aymeries Foot, had a spell in Lorient's reserve side, then went through Feignies Aulnoye. The turning point came at UR La Louvière Centre, where he won the Belgian Second Amateur Division in 2018–19.
A move to Olympic Charleroi followed, then a switch to Luxembourg with F91 Dudelange, where he added a national title, the 2021–22 Luxembourg National Division, to his record. He moved to SC Bastia on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, and from there to FC Metz for a fee of €2.5 million the following year.
Van Den Kerkhof, who qualifies for Algeria through his father, has since been capped by the national team. In August 2025 he returned to Belgium on loan at Royal Charleroi, a move set to become permanent and free of charge in the summer of 2026.
A right-back by trade and right-footed, he is physically strong for a defender of his profile.
