Kuassi Eboue

Kouassi Eboue's route to Portugal ran through the Caucasus and southern Russia. He started out at the Académie Symbiose Foot d'Abobo in Ivory Coast, had a brief spell at Armenia's Shirak, then joined FC Krasnodar's youth setup, making his senior debut for the club in May 2016. Eight months later Celtic paid roughly £3 million to bring him to Scotland, a move that turned into a significant period of his career: three Scottish Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups across his time at the club, though first-team opportunities were limited to 22 appearances.

A €1.5 million transfer took him to KRC Genk in July 2020. Game time again proved hard to come by — he featured for Genk's under-23 side in the Challenger Pro League during the 2022–23 season — and a loan to Arouca in 2021 pointed the way forward. When his Genk contract expired in 2023, he joined Arouca permanently on a free transfer, going on to make around 44 league appearances for the Portuguese club.

At international level, Eboue has represented Ivory Coast's Olympic team, playing once at the Olympics. A call-up to the senior squad came in November 2016 for matches against Morocco and France, but he stayed on the bench for both and has yet to win a senior cap.
