About the player
McCann came through the youth academy at Hamilton Academical, joining at the age of 13, and captained the club's under-19 side in the 2018–19 UEFA Youth League. His senior career opened in August 2019 with a loan to Airdrieonians, where he made 14 league appearances before signing for the club permanently.
He moved to Falkirk on a free transfer in July 2021, and in February 2023 he agreed a contract extension that runs to 2026. The following season brought the club's "Invincibles" campaign, as Falkirk won the cinch League One title with 27 wins and 9 draws to secure automatic promotion; McCann's form was recognised with a place in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year for League One. He has scored two league goals for Falkirk.
The good times kept coming: in 2024–25 Falkirk went up again, this time lifting the Scottish Championship title, and McCann clawed his way through a second successive promotion as the club beat Montrose 7–1 on 3 May 2025 to clinch the league. At international level, he has one cap for Scotland's under-19s.
