About the player
Liu Yang has never worn another club's badge. Born in Qingdao, he came up through the Shandong Taishan academy — known as Shandong Luneng for much of his youth career there — and made his professional debut for the first team in 2016, staying with the club ever since.
A left-footed defender who can also fill in as a midfielder, Liu Yang has played for Shandong.
His form for Shandong brought a call-up to the China national team, for which he made his debut in December 2014. He has gone on to earn 21 caps and scored one goal for the national side.
Liu Yang remains, above all, a one-club figure: he built his entire career and his trophies with Shandong Taishan.
