Lucas Oliveira de França

Lucas Franca made his way through Cruzeiro's academy from 2011. He picked up back-to-back Minas Gerais state titles at under-20 level in 2014 and 2015, and travelled with Cruzeiro's youth sides to collect silverware abroad, including the Terborg Cup and the Franz Josef Cup.

The breakthrough, such as it was, came away from Cruzeiro. Loan spells took him to Ceará in 2019, where he made a single appearance, and to Guarani in 2021, though that stint ended before he featured for the club at all, with Cruzeiro recalling him early. It was a permanent move to Portugal that gave his career its shape. He eventually settled into the role of first-choice goalkeeper, a status Cruzeiro had never quite offered him. He built a run of consistent starts, including 33 league appearances in the second tier in 2023/24 and the same tally in the Portuguese top flight the following season.

That run of form led to a free transfer to Santa Clara in July 2026, on a contract running to 2028, where he now wears the number one shirt as the club's established goalkeeper. He has never been called into any Brazil youth or senior squad, and his path has been built almost entirely on steady club form rather than representative honours.
