Luka Brugmans

Antwerp, Eindhoven, Genk — Lucca Brughmans has already crossed more borders than most goalkeepers his age manage in a decade, and at just eleven years old he left Royal Antwerp's academy for PSV Eindhoven, spending three years developing in the Netherlands before returning home in 2022 to join KRC Genk. He signed his first professional contract with Genk in August 2023, and for two seasons his football consisted largely of Genk II fixtures in the Belgian Second Division. He made his senior debut for the first team in April 2026.

What followed moved fast. In September 2026, Liverpool agreed a deal to sign him for a fee reported at €35 million, including add-ons — a transfer that made him the most expensive teenage goalkeeper in history.

At international level, he has climbed steadily through Belgium's youth ranks, from the under-15s in 2023 through to the under-19s this year. There are no major honours on his record so far, senior or individual.
