Matteo Emilio Di Giusto

Matteo Emilio Di Giusto stands just 168 cm tall, but it has not kept him out of the Swiss Super League. He came through FC Zürich's academy after starting out at FC Wagen, FC Wettingen and FC Baden, and was sent on loan to SC Freiburg's U19 side for the 2018–2019 season, where he scored seven goals in 20 appearances. He made a single senior appearance for FC Zürich.

Di Giusto became a regular at FC Vaduz, scoring ten goals in 61 appearances across all competitions and winning the Liechtenstein Cup in 2022.

Gallen on the same day his mother died, a decision he later said he regretted. That form made his omission from the senior Switzerland squad all the more conspicuous, and former international Admir Mehmedi publicly criticised the decision. At under-21 level, Di Giusto already has five caps and played at the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
