About the player
Maxim Drozdov is a product of the FC Gomel youth academy, and his path to the first team has run through the club's own reserve side. He joined FC Gomel-2 in 2022, made his debut for the reserves in the Second League in 2024. Gomel-2 earned promotion to the First League for 2025.
His rise through the club accelerated in 2023: Drozdov was called up to train with the FC Gomel main squad in June and signed his first professional contract two months later, in August. He has since made further appearances for the first team and has also featured in the Belarusian Cup.
Drozdov is right-footed and plays in midfield. He has not yet been capped by Belarus at any level.
