Marcos Hernán Peano

Marcos Peano did not force his way into a first team through a breakout season. Born in Freyre, in the Province of Córdoba, he came through the youth ranks at Unión de Santa Fe and made his professional debut there in September 2018, but first-team chances stayed scarce: four league appearances and four cup appearances across six years at the club. Loans to Defensores de Belgrano and Defensa y Justicia added only a handful more.

The turning point came at Atlético de Rafaela, where he signed on a free transfer in January 2023 and finally became an undisputed starter. Across 37 league appearances in the Primera Nacional he kept 18 clean sheets, conceding just 29 goals, and was named Man of the Match in a goalless draw with Deportivo Madryn. A move to Instituto followed in January 2024, though it brought no league minutes.

Peano then left Argentina altogether, joining RAAL La Louvière on a free transfer in July 2024. He quickly became the club's first-choice goalkeeper, keeping 10 clean sheets in 27 appearances as RAAL won promotion in the 2024–25 Challenger Pro League season. He has carried that form into the top flight, making 34 appearances and recording 10 clean sheets in the 2025–26 Belgian Pro League season, performances that have drawn comparisons with established league goalkeepers and speculation linking him with RSC Anderlecht.

At youth level, Peano was capped by Argentina's under-17 side and played in the opening two matches of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, against Mexico and Germany.
