About the player
Michel Costa left Rio de Janeiro for the United States in 2021, joining New England Revolution II after coming through the Botafogo youth ranks. He had already trained with Brazil's under-17 squad at Granja Comary ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, though a full call-up never followed.
A free transfer took him to Portugal in January 2023, where GD Estoril Praia signed him initially for the Under-23 side. He was part of the squad that won the Portuguese Under-23 Championship before earning a step up to the first team for the 2023–24 season, going on to make appearances in the Primeira Liga without finding the net.
In January 2025 he was loaned out to CS Marítimo for the rest of the season, where he scored his goal in Liga Portugal 2 before the loan ran its course at the end of June. That summer, in July 2025, he joined Felgueiras 1932.
