About the player
Myron van Brederode made his professional debut for AZ Alkmaar's first team on 7 August 2022, starting away at Go Ahead Eagles in a 2–0 win and scoring the second goal himself. He had come through the AZ academy and Jong AZ, and the debut goal set the tone for a busy first full season: 43 appearances and five goals in 2022–23, followed by 37 appearances the next year with four goals and four assists. He also featured in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers for AZ, scoring once in 16 appearances.
In August 2024 he moved on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf in the 2. Bundesliga. The option was not taken up, and he returned to AZ that summer before joining KV Mechelen permanently in September 2025 on a four-year contract, with the fee undisclosed.
Van Brederode has represented the Netherlands at under-21 level, winning 18 caps and scoring once, against Gibraltar in October 2023. He was included in the Dutch squad for the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
