Naci Ünüvar

Born in Zaandam to a family with Turkish roots, he chose to represent Turkey at senior level after coming through the Dutch youth ranks up to under-19 level and later turning out for Turkey's under-21 side. He was also part of the Netherlands side that won the UEFA European Under-17 Championship in 2019.

What followed was a run of loans rather than a settled first-team role. At Trabzonspor he scored three goals in 12 appearances before the arrangement was cut short by mutual consent, and at FC Twente he was a more regular presence, scoring four times in 25 outings. A loan to Espanyol in August 2024 never took off: with only four appearances split between La Liga and the Copa del Rey, the move was ended early in January 2025. That same day brought a bigger change — Ünüvar terminated his Ajax contract altogether and signed permanently with Twente, with Ajax keeping a sell-on clause on any future transfer. A further loan to Heracles Almelo in January 2026 brought ten appearances before his return to Twente, where his path forward remains open.
