About the player
Oumar Konaté grew up playing in Abidjan, coming through Jean-Evrard Kouassi FC's youth ranks before a loan spell at ASI Abengourou gave him his first taste of Ivorian top-flight football. It was back at SOL FC d'Abobo that he made his name, scoring around 15 goals in a single season in Ligue 1 ivoirienne and picking up the award for best young player of the Ivorian championship.
That form earned him a move to AS Monaco on 9 July 2025, when he signed his first professional contract straight from SOL FC d'Abobo.
Internationally, Konaté has been a fixture of Ivory Coast's youth sides. He scored seven goals to finish as top scorer of the 2023 Montaigu Tournament, and returned to the same competition in 2024 as part of the Ivory Coast Under-20 squad that reached the final, where they were beaten by Ukraine. Along the way he scored against Mexico and set up a goal against France.
