About the player
Reuven Niemeijer's move to De Graafschap in January 2025 turned into a productive spell of his career. Between then and the middle of 2026 he scored 23 goals in 53 appearances for the club. The peak came against Jong AZ on 6 April 2026, when he scored a hat-trick and added an assist, earning a 9.8 rating from FotMob for the performance.
Niemeijer, born in Hengelo, made his first-team debut at Quick '20 in 2014. Heracles Almelo signed him in the summer of 2016, though a loan spell at Emmen followed in 2018/19, and by the 2019/20 season he could not force his way into the Heracles first team at all. He moved on as a free agent to Excelsior in 2020, then to Brescia in Italy in 2022 after Excelsior missed out on Eredivisie qualification. A spell at RKC Waalwijk followed from 2023, mostly through the 2023/24 season and the start of the next, before he signed for De Graafschap in January 2025.
Across his career Niemeijer has converted six penalties, the most recent of them for De Graafschap. He left the club for FC Volendam as a free agent in August 2026.
He has not been capped for any Dutch national side, at senior or youth level.
