About the player
Rhys Norrington-Davies was born in Riyadh and came through Swansea City's youth ranks before Sheffield United's academy signed him in 2017, where he turned professional a year later. Rather than force his way into the Sheffield United side, he built his career through a string of loans: Barrow, Rochdale, Luton Town and Stoke City each had him for a season or part of one, and in August 2025 he joined Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan.
Wales called him up at senior level for the first time on 14 October 2020, against Bulgaria in the Nations League. He waited until 8 June 2022 for his first international goal, and it came at the sharpest possible moment: with the Netherlands leading, he headed in an equaliser in the 92nd minute. He has also represented Wales at Under-19 and Under-21 level, and by June 2026 had earned 17 senior caps.
His path away from Sheffield United has not been entirely smooth. In the summer of 2026, Portsmouth wanted to take him on loan, but Sheffield United declined to sanction the move, keeping him tied to a contract that runs to June 2027.
