About the player
Roni's first professional goal came against Bahia in a 3–2 win in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, a strike he dedicated to his late brother. He had come through Corinthians' academy from the age of five, captaining the under-17 side to the Copa do Brasil Sub-17 title and lifting the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior with the under-20s before making his senior debut for the club. Over four seasons in the first team he settled into the role of defensive midfielder.
A loan to Atlético Goianiense followed, before Mirassol paid to sign him permanently at the start of 2025. He spent the 2025 season and the start of 2026 there.
At AVS he quickly became a regular starter in midfield. His clearest mark on the season came away to FC Porto, when he scored twice in a 3–1 win — the first time in his career he had scored a brace in a single match.
He has not yet been called up to Brazil's senior national team.
