Ruben Gabrielsen

Gabrielsen made his Eliteserien debut for Lillestrøm on 5 April 2009 at the age of 17 years and 25 days, which made him the club's youngest-ever debutant. He went on to make 63 league appearances in that first spell before Molde FK paid a fee for him in July 2014, at a time when Lillestrøm needed the money.

He won the Eliteserien title twice with the club, in 2014 and 2019, and lifted the Norwegian Cup in 2014. He signed a three-year contract with Toulouse FC in December 2019.

His time in France included a loan to F.C. Copenhagen for the 2021–22 season, in which he won the Danish Superliga. Toulouse terminated his contract in January 2022, and he moved on a free transfer to Austin FC, where he made 33 league appearances and scored twice. He left the American club by mutual agreement in January 2023, citing personal circumstances involving a child who needed special care, and returned to Lillestrøm on a free transfer that March.

In his second spell at Lillestrøm he has made 85 league appearances and scored five goals. The club dropped out of the Eliteserien after the 2024 season and spent 2025 in the Norwegian First Division. Gabrielsen has also won two caps for Norway's senior side, debuting in a 1–1 draw with Austria in November 2020 and playing again in a 2–0 win over Montenegro in October 2021, having previously come through the country's youth set-ups from under-15 to under-23 level.
