Ryan Guilherme

The way Ryan Guilherme reached Portugal the first time was on loan. Sent to União de Leiria for the 2024–25 season, the holding midfielder played 29 matches in the Segunda Liga, scoring once and setting up three more.

He came through the academy at Boavista (RJ) and joined Fortaleza in July 2021, where he was registered with the Sub-20 and Sub-23 sides. Game time came elsewhere. Fortaleza loaned him back to Boavista for the Campeonato Carioca in 2022, 2023 and 2024; in 2022 his registration was disputed, but he featured against Vasco da Gama and Flamengo. Between those spells came a brief loan to Operário Ferroviário in 2023 and another to Volta Redonda in 2024. His one title came with Fortaleza's Sub-20 team, who won the Campeonato Cearense in 2024.

The ownership of his contract then became its own story. In September 2025, Fortaleza sold 40% of the economic rights they held — out of a 55% share — to Cruzeiro for 4.5 million reais, keeping 15% and a cut of any future sale. Cruzeiro held on to 10% of the rights themselves.

Five months later, in February 2026, Cruzeiro sold him to Rio Ave for 2.5 million euros, again retaining that 10%. At 188 cm and right-footed, he returned to Portugal for the top flight. He has not played for Brazil's senior national team.
