Sergiu Cătălin Hanca

Hanca made his name at Dinamo București, where he lifted the Cupa Ligii in the 2016–17 season and was named to the Liga I Team of the Season — a run that also took him to the Cupa României final the previous year. The move to Bucharest, in January 2016, followed four seasons at ASA Târgu Mureș, the club where he had already collected a Supercupa României in 2015 after coming through spells at ACS Olimpic Snagov and FC Bihor Oradea.

His performances for Dinamo earned him a first call-up to the Romanian national side, and he made his debut on 10 June 2017 in a World Cup qualifier against Poland, going on to win seven caps. That same year he was twice named Digi Sport Liga I Player of the Month, in April and August.

In January 2019, Hanca left Romania for Poland, joining Cracovia for a fee of around €60,000. He spent more than three seasons there and added two more trophies to his collection, the Puchar Polski in 2019–20 and the Superpuchar Polski in 2020. He returned home in the summer of 2022, signing for CS Universitatea Craiova as a free agent, though the arrangement did not run its course: the contract was terminated by mutual consent in June 2023, reportedly with €120,000 in compensation for the player.

Days later, on 4 July 2023, Hanca signed a three-year deal with Petrolul Ploiești as a free agent, on a reported monthly salary of €8,000.
