About the player
Sam Lammers earned a place in the Team of the Tournament at the 2016 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He was part of the squad that won the Eredivisie in 2017-18, and in January 2019 he was named Eredivisie Talent of the Month following a loan spell at SC Heerenveen. His one cap for the Netherlands senior side, in 2017, brought an immediate reward: the winning goal against Germany.
A €9 million move took him to Atalanta in 2020, and instead built his career through a string of loans. At Eintracht Frankfurt he won the UEFA Europa League, though he was an unused substitute in the final, before spells at Empoli and Sampdoria. A switch to Rangers brought a Scottish League Cup winner's medal, and a loan back to the Eredivisie with FC Utrecht saw him named the division's Player of the Month in April 2024.
Lammers arrived at FC Twente on loan for the 2024-25 season and made an immediate impact, scoring seven goals in 21 Eredivisie appearances, including one against Manchester United in the Europa League. His campaign was disrupted by a knee injury and shoulder surgery.
