Santiago René Muñóz Robles

Santiago Muñoz made that step up on 26 October 2020, coming into a Liga MX match against Atlético San Luis that Santos won 2–1.

Before any of that, there was a summer in 2019 that made his name in Mexican football. At the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship he scored five goals, including a hat-trick against Trinidad and Tobago and a goal in the final against the United States, and lifted the title with the squad. Months later at the Under-17 World Cup he scored again, against Japan, as Mexico finished runners-up.

The path since has run through loan spells rather than a settled first-team place. Newcastle United took him in August 2021 until January 2023. In April 2025 he moved to Sporting Kansas City in MLS, made his debut on 10 May and scored his first goal in the league on 31 May against Houston Dynamo. Since January 2026 he has been out again, on loan back at Atlético San Luis.

He has represented Mexico at Under-21 and Under-23 level and has been called into the senior squad, though without an official cap to date. Born in El Paso, Texas, he holds both Mexican and American nationality.
